Mercedes-Benz AMG GT - Week 20

This weeks blog is going to be on Mr. Panton's toy car, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (gran turismo). This vehical came out in 2014. It is a 2 passenger coupe sports car designed by Mark Fetherston (exterior) and Jan Kaul (interior). It has a 4.0L M178 twin turbo V8 petrol (meaning it takes gasoline) engine and has a seven speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT (dual clutch transmission). This transmission pretty much allows the driver to switch gears faster without losing tractive power. It also features a "Race Start" function that allows a maximum acceleration from standstill. This vehical al goes from 0 - 60 in 4 seconds, has a top speed of 202 mph, has 460 hp at 6000 rpm, and a torque ratio of 480 lbs/ft at 4750 rpm.

This is one beautiful vehicle! I can't stop staring at it every time I'm in Mr. Panton's and I would love to have one in the future. It is extremely fast and load and I love that.

Prosche 356 - Week 19

I think it's finally time to talk about an old luxury sports car, a Porsche. The 1948 Porsche 356 was technically the first Porsche and really out the company on the map. It was first produced by a Austrailian company called Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH from 1948 - 1949, and then by a German company called Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH from 1950 - 1965 where the more improved version was built.

This car is a 2 door sports car that's has a 4-cylinder engine with either a 1086cc/40hp 2x1bbl or 1086cc/46hp 2x1bbl Solex ("cc" means cubic centimeters, "bbl" means barrels, and "Solex" is the type of carburetor), and has a four speed manual transmission. There were 76,303 of this model Prosche made in total.

This Porsche comes as either a convertible, hardtop coupe, or roadster (sporty convertible), has a rear engine, and is RWD. Most of the mechanical parts of the engine and suspension came from from the Volkswagen Beetle (Type 1), which was also created by Ferdinand Porsche, or Ferry.

Hyundai Tiburon - Week 18

This blog is for my dawg, Sawyer, and his new car, a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT. This little sports car is part of the Korean Domestic Market (KDM) group. It's a four-passenger two-door coupe, which has a 2.7L V6 engine, a four-speed shiftable automatic transmission, it's FWD, goes from 0 - 60 in 8 seconds, 172 hp at 6000 rpm, a torque ratio of 181 ft/lbs at 4000 rpm, and a double overhead cam (DOHC), which has a wider angle between the intake and exhaust valves than single overhead cam (SOHC) engines do. This allows less restricted airflow at a higher engine speed. This vehicle also has a  MacPherson strut front suspension.

Sawyer wants to modify his new baby just a little. Form what I know, he wants to add a nice, simple body kit and a turbo to speed things up a bit. I think it's going to be dope!

So lets talk about the worlds most powerful, fastest, and most luxurious super sports car, the all new Bugatti Chiron.  This beauty has an 8L 16-cylinder W configuration engine, four turbochargers, 1,500 hp,  a torque ratio of 1180 lbs/ft, can accelerate from 0 - 60 in 2.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 261 mph. The Chiron is mid-engined, and was designed and created by the Volkwagen Group. Its the successor to the Bugatti Veyron. Just like the Veyron, it has a carbon fibre body, independent suspension, and 4WD (four wheel drive).

It was first revealed on March 1st, 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show in the Swiss city of Geneva. This new Bugatti was named after Louis Chiron. Bugatti is saying that it competes with Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, and McLaren P1. It costs about $2.6 million and is coming out in 2017. Bugatti says that this 4400 pound vehical is "the worlds first production of sports car with 1500 hp".

Tesla Model 3 - Week 16

So the topic on Tesla's hasn't ended yet. There's a brand new model coming out, the Model 3, which you can reserve starting March 31st, 2016 at 8:30pm. Its unveiling was on March 31st, 2016 at 7:30pm. It is the cheapest model yet at about $35K, compared to the Model S and X at about $70K - $145K. This new model is like a smaller version of the Model S.

This car is a five-passenger sedan, which can go up to 215 miles per charge, goes from 0 - 60 in under six seconds, and has an autopilot safety feature. It has a supercharging capability, which means that it can use the charging stations, so you can can go on road trips wth no worries. The Model 3 is able to get about an 80 percent charge in less that 30 minutes.

Tesla is planning on making 500,000 Model 3's a year, and production starts mid to end 2017. Because of this, they are building the largest lithium ion battery factory in the world (bigger than all the others combined). Elon Musk is planning on doubling the number of superchargers from 3,600 to 7,200 within the next year.

Ford F-150 Lightning - Week 15

The Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is probably one of the ugliest trucks my boyfriend has set his mind to buying, but it is pretty fast. This truck was featured in the Fast & Furious movies. This truck was also made as a competitor for the Chevrolet Silverado 454SS.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is a high performance version of the normal Ford F-150, which was produced by the Ford Special Vehical Team (SVT). These two automobiles share a lot of the same structures, but extensive modifications were made to the suspension and frame of the SVT Lightning in order to improve the handling of the car.

The F-150 SVT Lightning is a front engine, RWD, two passenger, two door type of truck. It has a forth generation supercharged and imtercooled SOHC (single overhead cam, which generates a higher engine speed allowing it to have a greater revolution per minute, or rpm) 5.4L V8 engine, 4R100 four speed automatic transmission with lockup torque converter, 380 hp at 4,750 rpm, a torque ratio of 450 lbs/ft at 3,250 rpm, goes from 0 - 60 in 5.2, and has a top speed of 140 mph. This speedy truck also has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.

Chevrolet Silverado 454SS - Week 14

The 1990 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 454SS ("SS" means Super Sport) is a beast! It the best domestic sports truck in the US. It's a standard two wheel drive cab and comes with a 454ci (cubic inches) 7.4L V8 engine (also knows as the "Big Block") in a short-box C1500 pickup (the "C" stands for C-series truck, which is two wheel drive and C1500 is half ton), 230hp at 3600rpm, a torque ratio of 385 lbs/feet at 1600rpm, goes from 0 - 60 in under eight seconds (that's a pretty good speed for a truck), and has a three speed automatic transmission with Turbo Hydramatic 400. The interior comes equipped with special red cloth seats, black trim, black steering wheel and air vents, and sports buckle seats. It also comes with a black exterior and special made 454SS wheels from factory. This sporty pick up truck also has a 3.73 rear axle ratio, which adds to the performance of the car. It also has positrac rear ends, which describes the limited-slip differential (this allows both wheels to turn at once and improves traction) has a stock fuel pressure of 12.5 lbs, and a towing capacity of 9,500 lbs.

Ferrari vs. Lamborghini - Week 13

Ferrari's and Lamborghini's are both performance, power, and popularity cars. They are both Italian companies and produce popular luxury sports cars. They are also both VERY expensive companies that make expansive cars and accessories (clothing, clothing accessories, car parts, etc.).

Even though these cars have many similarities, they have a lot more differences. Ferrari was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari and it's parent organization is Fiat S.p.A.  This beautiful car has a few different body styles; 2-door, 2+2 coupe cabriolet, 2 seat Berlinetta, 2 seat spider, or 3-door shooting-break. It comes with either a front mid-engine with rear-wheel drive, or rear mid-engine with rear-wheel drive, FMR layout (front mid-engine with rear wheel drive) or FM4 layout (front mid-engine with four wheel drive), has a seven speed dual clutch automated manual, and has between 460 - 963 hp

The Lamborghini on the other hand was founded in October 30, 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini and it's parent organizations are Audi AG and Volkswagen Group. This car has 3 body styles; 2 door coupe, 2 door roadster, 2-door spyder. It comes with either a mid-engine four wheel drive or a mid-engine rear wheel drive, seven speed ISR (independent shifting rods) semi-automatic transmission or five speed manual, and has between 550 - 700 hp.

So here's how Lamborghini started...Ferrucio Lamborghini fixed a Ferrari he bought with a clutch from his tractor company. He then went to tell Enzo Ferrari, but Mr. Ferrari took it as an insult and told off Ferrucio. So he went on to making the beautiful Lamborghini many of us love today.

RC 350 & F - Week 12

The RC is one of the beautiful models of the Lexus brand. It comes with many different models, but my two favorite are the RC 350 F Sport and RC F. My favorite color for this car is white in red; its the perfect combination! This model has a very bold look to it, which makes it look fierce. The RC 350 F Sport is the one I drive (which is my sisters car) when I want to run errands. It is a four - passenger luxury sport coupe, which has a eight - speed Sport - Direct Shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters (RWD) or six - speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters (AWD), has 306 horsepower, 3.5L V6 engine, goes from 0 - 60 in 6 seconds, and has a top speed of 130 mph.

The RC F, on the other hand is a beast! It looks the same but is much faster than all the other models. It is a four - passenger performance coupe, which has eight - speed Sport - Direct Shift, (RWD or TVD, which means Torque Vectoring Differential), has 467 horsepower at 7100 RPM, 5.0 L V8 engine, goes from 0 - 60 in 4.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 168 mph.

Tesla Model X - Week 11

To end the topic of Tesla's, let's talk about the new Tesla Model X. So if you guys haven't heard by now, there's a new tesla coming out, which is called the Model X. It is the safest, fastest, and most capable sport utility vehicle in the history of automobiles. This car is a seven passenger SUV (sport utility vehicle) and is EPA approved, which comes with AWD (for maximum efficiency and traction), a 90 kWh battery, which you can drive up to an average of 257 mile range with a single charge, and falcon wings doors. This vehicle is extremely fast! It goes from 0 - 60 in 3.2 seconds. That's pretty fast for a SUV.

Like the Model S, the Model X comes with 3 options; P90D, 90D, and 70D. The P90D has a range of 250 miles per charge, goes from 0 - 60 in 3.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 155 mph. The 90D has a range of 257 miles per charge, goes from 0 - 60 in 4.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 155 mph. The 70D has a range of 220 miles per charge, goes from 0 - 60 in 6.0 seconds, and has a top speed of 140 mph.

Tesla Model S - Week 10

To continue on the topic of Tesla's, lets compare the three Model S options, the P90D, 90D, and 70D. What these three options have in common is that they are all EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) approved and come with autopilot. The P90D and 90D both have a top speed of 155mph, but the 70D is a bit slower, which is 140mph.

The P90D option is more of a performance car. It is AWD (all wheel drive),  goes from 0 - 60 in 2.8 seconds, and a torque ration of 713 lbs/ft. This car also has 463 hp and can be driven at a range of 253 miles on a 85kWh (kilowatt hour) battery.

The 90D option is one of their standard cars. It is
AWD, goes from 0 - 60 in 4.2 seconds, and a torque ration of 485 lbs/ft. This car also has 417hp and can be driven at a range of 270 miles on a 85kWh battery.

The 70D option is one of their other standard cars. It either comes in AWD or RWD (rear wheel drive). The AWD Model S 70D  goes from 0 - 6 in 5.2 seconds, and a torque ration of 387 lbs/ft. This car also has 328 hp and can be driven at a range of 240 miles on a 85kWh (kilowatt hour) battery. The RWD Model S 70D  goes from 0 - 6 in 5.5 seconds, and a torque ration of 325 lbs/ft. This car also has 315 hp and can be driven at a range of 230 miles on a 85kWh battery.

All About Tesla - Week 9

In 2003 a young South African entrepreneur by the name of Elon Musk (founder of PayPal, SpaceX, and a few other well known companies) founded what has revolutionized the entire car world as a whole. Elon Musk came up with the brand, Tesla Motors. Tesla Motors was going to be the largest electric car manufacture in the world. As climate change is rising, we needed a way to drop CO2 emissions fast! And Elon Musk found a cure for that problem, all electric vehicles. Tesla Motors began with the Roadster. The Tesla Roadster was a two door convertible all electric sports car. Because of its lightweight design, it was able to perform like its competing automobiles in its class. After the Roadster, a lot of naysayers kept doubting the future of Tesla Motors. But then Tesla brought out the Model S. The Model S is an all electric luxury sedan with surprisingly a lot of performance potential. And now in 2016, they have come out with an SUV, the Model X. Rumor has it that coming soon they'll have an economic car as well that the general public will be able to afford. The best thing, in my opinion, about Elon Musk and his company, Tesla Motors, is that it is truly trying to revolutionize the future for the best of the world. Elon Musk opened all patents to the company so that anybody can take his idea and help save the Earth. This is unheard of, but that is why Tesla Motors is one of my favorite car manufacturers!

The New Bae! - Week 8

So I got a new bae a little while ago! It's a Hyundai Genesis sedan and its my baby. This beautiful car is a five passenger sedan luscious interior. It comes with a 3.8L V6 engine, has 333 horsepower at 6400 rpm, has a torque ratio of 291 lbs/ft (pounds per foot) at 5100 rpm, and has an eight speed automatic transmission with SHIFTTRONIC (this can operare just like a normal automatic transmission, but it also allows you to override the automatic mode by moving the shifter into a second shift gate (to the right of the shift gate) equipped with two spring - loaded positions, meaning either an "upshift" or "downshift"). This luxurious car also comes with either RWD or AWD (rarely) and goes from 0 - 60 in 5.4 second.

The Genisis in general has always been one of my favorite cars, especially when I laid eyes on the coupe. So when I found out I was getting something in the Genisis family I got beyond excited! This has to be one of the best presents my dad gotten me!

2006 BMW M5 - Week 7

The 2006 BMW E60 M5 is a gorgeous piece of metal. The BMW M5 is a high performance version of the 5 series BMW built by the Motorsport division of the company. It is a RWD (rear wheel drive), five-passenger sedan with a 5.0 L V10 engine. It has a 7-speed SMGIII transmission (sequential manual gearbox; single-clutch semi-automatic transmission. The "III" represents the 3rd generation SMG transmission), which is an electrohydraulic manual transmission, goes from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, comes with 500 hp at 7750 rpm, and has a top speed of 205 mph.

There was this one day where Danny and I were cruising down US-27 in his dads M5, and all of a sudden we hear sirens go off. Danny looks at his rear view mirror and says "5-0 behind us", so i turn around and see a cop behind us. He pulls over to the side of the road and the officer asks for his license and registration. We then ask him why he pulled us over and he told us that the car was too loud and low. But we obviously have no control over that. So the cop left us with a warning and we never road in the beautiful white M5 again, because its too disturbing and we'll probably get pulled over again. So we're just going to leave that to his dad lol.

NisFLO Caravan/Meet - Week 6

The NisFLO (Nissan Infiniti South Florida Organization) Caravan/Car Meet was one of the most amazing and life changing events I have ever been to. These meets happen once a year at Markham Part in November.

The day started when my boyfriend, Danny, and I met up at the Publix in Hialeah with a few other automotive enthusiasts. From there we did a group drive (caravan) up to the infamous annual NisFLO meet at Markham Park.Neither me nor Danny are big Nissan fans, but I will be honest, this was one of the best events he has taken me to. Along witht the Profound amount of Nissans and Infinitis that were there, there was a decent amount of different brand name vehicles there; Supras, Skylines, GTRs, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Luxus', Hondas, Mazdas, etc.

My favorite part of this crazy me was the drive up there. The streets were filled with us friends and it felt like no one can stop us. Wherever we want, they would follow. If we would stop, they would stop. It felt like a game of Simon Says! It was quite enjoyable and I would love to attend the future ones coming up.

Taco Maker Meets - Week 5

The Taco Maker meets happen every Wednesday from 8 pm to 11 pm. You can find all sorts of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market; Japan's economic market for Japanese-brand goods, such as automobiles and their parts) cars there; Toyota Supras (MK3 - third generation & MK4 - forth generation), Nissan Skylines (R32 & R34 - the "R" is a chassis code, which started in 1982, with the R30 Skyline), and Mazda RX7s (the "RX" stands for Rotary Experiment and the "7" is for the 7th model).

It's the largest Wednesday car meet in Miami and there's always a live DJ and a raffle going on where you can win cool prizes; and you can never go wrong with $1 tacos. The best part of this meet is having a fire taco while looking at the gorgeous cars surrounding you. It's a little far, but it is worth the drive. You'll have a lot of fun, especially if you go with a bunch of friends. The most important thing about car meets is that you must follow the rules, because you don't want it to get raided by the cops. Then the hosts will have to look for a new location to have their meets, which isn't the easiest thing to do.

It is definitely a place to go if you're a car person! If you don't have anyone to go with, that's no problem, you can make a lot of super chill friends there. If you're up for it, go for it!

EPA Prohibiting Converting Vehicles Into Racecars - Week 4

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is trying to pass a law that prohibits the conversion of street cars into race cars, to the act of modifying a vehicle. The reason for the EPAs decision would be to  "prohibit conversion of vehicles originally designed for on-road use into race cars" and "make the sale of certain products for use on such vehicles illegal" SEMA Specialty Equipment Market Association announced. This is all to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This has caused a lot of ruckus in the tuning and racing community, because the modifying of cars brings a lot of joy to people and some people do it for a living, so be taking it away, you are putting people out of the workforce. Many people are furious with this news and are trying to do something about it. There is a petition on the White House website where you put your name, email, and zip code to try to stop law from passing. If you are a car fanatic and would love to be a part of stopping this law, go on the website below and sign your name. Over 120 thousand people have already signed, which is pasted the amount of signatures needed, but the more the merrier!

Push Vapes Meet - Week 3

I went to a meet hosted by my boyfriend's previous car club (Atmospheric Racing) at Push Vapes on the 4th of July and saw the most beautiful cars of life; a RC-F, R34 Skyline, FR-S, NSX, etc. You name it, and it was there, right before your eyes. You could either go outside and look at the cars parked side by side or racing on the streets, or go inside and vape as much as your heart desired. It was one of the best meets hosted by this club (in my opinion of course).

I took the skyline and got in the front seat with my boy Bobby next to me and my boyfriend Danny in the back seat. The NSX got next to me and we went at it, 40 roll (keep a speed of 40 mph, at the third honk, you accelerate 100 mph  over the speed you started at) right there and then. It felt remarkable shifting through each gear; the adrenaline rush you get from the speed is just great! It felt like I was flying and the motor sounded amazing! Altogether, this meet was fantastic! I enjoyed it and I hope another one like it happens again soon!

Po The Fiat - Week 2

The Fiat 500 Abarth is probably the cutest car I have ever seen! Po (a black and white Fiat, which was named after the panda from Kung Fu Panda), one of the Fiats I once knew, was a faster version of the Fiat 500. It is turbocharged, has a 5-speed manual transmission, uses front-wheel-drive (fwd), is a four passenger coupe, has 160 hp (horse power) at 6000 rpm (revolutions per minute), goes from 0-60 in a little over 7.5 seconds, has a top speed of 135 mph (miles per hour), and it's bigger than you think.

Even though it might seem like this car lacks power, the size and the lack of weight has made this little guy spunky on the streets and a little rocket pocket on the track. From the factory, the car comes with a full exhaust from the car back with no muffler, and came boosting 18 lbs/psi (pounds per square inch) with its factory turbo. So this little guy packs a punch! This car also came with a Beats audio speaker system and subwoofer from factory, so the sound system was awesome as well! It's definitely one of the nicest/cutest cars I've ever been in.

1989 RHD Toyota Supra - Week 1

The imported 1989 right hand drive (rhd) Toyota Supra is a five-passenger coupe, with a sporty and modern interior for its time. This car is a Japanese beauty; right hand drive, 5 speed manual transmission, twin turbo, rear wheel drive, a 1JZ engine, and goes from 0 - 60 in seven seconds. When you swap the engine with a 2JZ engine (this engine is from the forth generation Supra. The "2" stands for the iteration of the block and the "JZ" stands for the engine's family), she's a beast on the street. With the 25 year law, it is a little harder to import a car into the United States; in order to bring a car here, it has to be at least 25 years old.

Compared to the more modern Supra, the classic Supra's body style represents the timeless shape of the late 80's sports car. With it's pop up headlights and it's sharp lines and edges, it is the epitome of cars from this time era. It's hard to find a modern car which holds its value and turns heads for the years to come, like the Toyota Supra. It is one spectacular car!
