NisFLO Caravan/Meet - Week 6

The NisFLO (Nissan Infiniti South Florida Organization) Caravan/Car Meet was one of the most amazing and life changing events I have ever been to. These meets happen once a year at Markham Part in November.

The day started when my boyfriend, Danny, and I met up at the Publix in Hialeah with a few other automotive enthusiasts. From there we did a group drive (caravan) up to the infamous annual NisFLO meet at Markham Park.Neither me nor Danny are big Nissan fans, but I will be honest, this was one of the best events he has taken me to. Along witht the Profound amount of Nissans and Infinitis that were there, there was a decent amount of different brand name vehicles there; Supras, Skylines, GTRs, Lamborghinis, McLarens, Luxus', Hondas, Mazdas, etc.

My favorite part of this crazy me was the drive up there. The streets were filled with us friends and it felt like no one can stop us. Wherever we want, they would follow. If we would stop, they would stop. It felt like a game of Simon Says! It was quite enjoyable and I would love to attend the future ones coming up.

Taco Maker Meets - Week 5

The Taco Maker meets happen every Wednesday from 8 pm to 11 pm. You can find all sorts of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market; Japan's economic market for Japanese-brand goods, such as automobiles and their parts) cars there; Toyota Supras (MK3 - third generation & MK4 - forth generation), Nissan Skylines (R32 & R34 - the "R" is a chassis code, which started in 1982, with the R30 Skyline), and Mazda RX7s (the "RX" stands for Rotary Experiment and the "7" is for the 7th model).

It's the largest Wednesday car meet in Miami and there's always a live DJ and a raffle going on where you can win cool prizes; and you can never go wrong with $1 tacos. The best part of this meet is having a fire taco while looking at the gorgeous cars surrounding you. It's a little far, but it is worth the drive. You'll have a lot of fun, especially if you go with a bunch of friends. The most important thing about car meets is that you must follow the rules, because you don't want it to get raided by the cops. Then the hosts will have to look for a new location to have their meets, which isn't the easiest thing to do.

It is definitely a place to go if you're a car person! If you don't have anyone to go with, that's no problem, you can make a lot of super chill friends there. If you're up for it, go for it!

EPA Prohibiting Converting Vehicles Into Racecars - Week 4

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is trying to pass a law that prohibits the conversion of street cars into race cars, to the act of modifying a vehicle. The reason for the EPAs decision would be to  "prohibit conversion of vehicles originally designed for on-road use into race cars" and "make the sale of certain products for use on such vehicles illegal" SEMA Specialty Equipment Market Association announced. This is all to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This has caused a lot of ruckus in the tuning and racing community, because the modifying of cars brings a lot of joy to people and some people do it for a living, so be taking it away, you are putting people out of the workforce. Many people are furious with this news and are trying to do something about it. There is a petition on the White House website where you put your name, email, and zip code to try to stop law from passing. If you are a car fanatic and would love to be a part of stopping this law, go on the website below and sign your name. Over 120 thousand people have already signed, which is pasted the amount of signatures needed, but the more the merrier!

Push Vapes Meet - Week 3

I went to a meet hosted by my boyfriend's previous car club (Atmospheric Racing) at Push Vapes on the 4th of July and saw the most beautiful cars of life; a RC-F, R34 Skyline, FR-S, NSX, etc. You name it, and it was there, right before your eyes. You could either go outside and look at the cars parked side by side or racing on the streets, or go inside and vape as much as your heart desired. It was one of the best meets hosted by this club (in my opinion of course).

I took the skyline and got in the front seat with my boy Bobby next to me and my boyfriend Danny in the back seat. The NSX got next to me and we went at it, 40 roll (keep a speed of 40 mph, at the third honk, you accelerate 100 mph  over the speed you started at) right there and then. It felt remarkable shifting through each gear; the adrenaline rush you get from the speed is just great! It felt like I was flying and the motor sounded amazing! Altogether, this meet was fantastic! I enjoyed it and I hope another one like it happens again soon!
